travel north america united states oregon cascade head & salmon river kayaking

Cascade Head is a headland and 102,110 acre United States Forest Service Experimental Forest and part of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves.
The Salmon River flows into the Pacific at Cascade Head about ten miles north of Lincoln City, Lincoln County, Oregon.
I and a group of pickleball friends, Alan & Carly Kay and their dog Woofy, Marybeth Selby and her daughter Jodi, Becky Cox, and John Costa, took a day trip to Cascade Head.
We launched our kayaks at Knights Park on the Salmon River and kayaked west to Cascade Head.
We then beached our kayaks and took off on a mile-and-a-half hike along the beach to the south where we had heard there were caves and a hidden beach.
We saw a lot of local wildlife from crabs, blue herons, jellyfish, and even a beached sea lion.
We found the cave and worked our way through, but the tide on the other side prevented us from reaching Secret Cove.
I had a great day with perfect weather and good friends.
